Ain’t No Fashion High Enough

Thesis Work

The book, Ain’t No FASHION High Enough is meant to tie together fashion, it’s history, and the history of the respected decades that it goes through. It is needed to keep the history of fashion alive as well as the time periods of the typographic elements and format of design. It is a unique and elegant way of teaching people about what was worn, and possibly why. With the setup and visual elements, this book will get its message across in an elegant way. Ain’t No FASHION High Enough’s main purpose is to allow people to learn and appreciate fashion in a deeper and more personal way.

Final Deliverables

Final Deliverable included:
  •  A printed hardcover book with 10 Uniquely designed chapters. These were color coded chapters that began from the 1920’s all the way to 2010 and what is to com in the future. Consisting of different hand drawn elements, real fabric, and images of my grandparents in certain decades, this book truly shows the heart of fashion.

  • A corresponding app. This app consists of two parts. The first side is the area to learn and buy the book as well as see what is trending now. The second half of the app is where you can play different education fashion games, as well as scan a page from the book and see where you can get something similar at participating consignment shops.

Mood Boards

This project consisted of a lot of research. Papers, case studies, surveys, competitive matrixes, etc. One of which was creating these mood boards. I used these throughout the whole process, helping with color and the feeling of the decade.
